Damon Lindelof on Alien prequel

Deadline has reported that LOST co-creator Damon Lindelof has just signed a deal to do a solo rewrite on Sir Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel. But things with Lindelof are never that simple, because Deadline says Lindelof’s meeting with Sir Ridley and 20th Century Fox went so far as to possibly lead to Lindelof’s Alien take turning into a stand-a-lone sci-fi feature.

Either way, this sounds incredible awesome as we already know the talents of Lindelof through LOST. The Alien prequel script was initially written by Jon Spaihts, and was seemingly good enough to entice Sir Ridley to direct the project himself, so it’s interesting to possibly find out what Lindelof could be adding to the mix. If it spins off into it’s own thing, that’s great too as I’d love to see anything original from Lindelof.

Lindelof is metformin weight loss children currently working on JJ Abrams’ Star Trek sequel with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, whom with he also worked on Jon Favreau’s currently in production Cowboys and Aliens script. Glad to see Lindelof getting a ton of work in after what I’m sure was a much needed, very long post-LOST vacation.

Carlton Cuse? Are you out there? Need an assistant?
