Dwayne The metformin 1000 mg tab Rock Johnson has signed on to star in the sequel to Journey to The Center of The Earth 3d. New Line Cinemas is calling the new film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.

Is this news from some sort of alternate universe? Does someone actually want a sequel to that mediocre first film? With this random director? Did Brendan “Encino Man” Fraser demand too much money to start in it? Apparently I have no idea what I’m talking about because the 1st film made $250 Million when I wasn’t looking.
But the real tragedy here is The Rock’s career. He seems to be in one mediocre film after the other. There was a brief period in time, right after he did the surprisingly good The Rundown that the media was proclaiming him as the return of the 80’s action hero. Arnold Schwarzenegger himself gave an endorsement.
And then nothing. Is it The Rock? Is it his agents? Who knows. His next film Faster looks pretty cool. I think he has huge potential so hopefully his handlers can get their heads out of their asses and get him in a real film soon. Journey 2 is probably not it.
