I was metformin hydrochloride 500 mg almost reluctant to report this at first, lest some cataclysmic event undo it. But after years of highly publicized legal battles, setbacks, personnel changes, bizarre disasters, and financial crises, the Lord of The Rings prequel The Hobbit has been greenlit for production.Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s world-famous book, The Hobbit will be divided into two 3D films, with LOTR director Peter Jackson back at the helm. The films will be shot back-to-back, in 3D, with an estimated $250 million budget for each. Shooting is supposed to start in February, though no official start date for production has been announced.
The news comes as something of a relief. With production company MGM facing bankruptcy, it looked like The Hobbit might never happen, especially after the James Bond franchise was put on hold “indefinitely.”
MGM and Warner Brothers were set to co-finance the Hobbit films. How much of the half-a-billion-dollar pricetag MGM will be assuming is unclear. Technically, it should be split 50/50. But technically, MGM is $4 billion in debt. Then again, if my Visa card has taught me anything, it’s that being in debt should never get in the way of having a good time, or co-financing a $500 million project.
