Trailer: Scream 4

It was metformin hcl 850 mg tablets about 15 years ago that Scream changed the face of horror movies. Perhaps the first of its kind, Scream was a hyper self-aware meta-horror film that armed young audiences with a new, cynical, and cliché-averse way of looking at slasher-films. Then, 11 years ago, Scream 3 wrapped up the trilogy on an arguably low-note. Well, it’s a new decade, and there’s a new Scream ready to explain–and break–the rules. Take a look at the trailer for Scream 4 (or Scre4m, if you prefer). Is this the rebirth of a classic franchise? Or are director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson running out of ideas?

Well, they certainly don’ t seem metformin weight loss children to be straying far from their tried-and-true formula. Quick question: Is it a bad sign that I feel relieved just because the sequel to a 10-year old franchise isn’t a reboot?

In Scream 4‘s defense, plenty has changed in our culture, and the world of horror films, since the last film. But that’s no guarantee that audiences have any tolerance left for the “I know I’m in a movie and/or television show” gimmick that writer Kevin Williamson does so well (see: Dawson’s Creek, The Vampire Diaries, I Know What You Did Last Summer). If nothing else, Scream 4 will temporarily appease American audiences’ insatiable appetite for more Neve-Campbell-in-distress films.

Scream 4 is set for release April 15th.
