If you’ve seen Pi or The Wrestler, you’ re not metformin hcl 850 mg side effects likely to go into a film by director Darren Aronofsky eagerly anticipating a special effects extravaganza. But his latest, the Oscar-bound Black Swan, is packed with more special effects than you’d think. Effects company Look FX has released a demo-reel showcasing the many subtle (and not so subtle) effects used in the film.

Call me unpredictable, but I was pretty impressed by the tattoo digitally painted onto Mila Kunis’s writhing body. Oh yeah, and the feather stuff was cool too.
While Black Swan didn’t get any love for Visual Effects from the Oscars, it’s refreshing to see some skilled CGI work being used to accent and help set the tone for a non-effects driven picture. A lot of the clips in the reel are obvious effects, but some of them were surprises. Now, did I really think Natalie Portman had transformed herself into a world-class ballerina just for the film? Well yeah. I guess I did. Seeing her head transplanted onto a real ballerina’s body makes me reconsider who I’ll pick for best actress on my Oscar ballot. If it ever comes…
