Who Would Gordon-Levitt Play in Batman 3?

While talks metformin er 500mg weight loss concerning Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s involvement in the newest installment of the Batman franchise, The Dark Knight Rises, are still on the table, there has already been some speculation as to which character he may portray in the film.

Separate rumors of the Riddler potentially appearing in the movie, has led some to think that the actor might take on this role. Now, I’m not doubting the guy’s acting chops, but I honestly can’t see Gordon-Levitt realizing this character on screen. (Actually, I’m still having trouble accepting Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, but we’ll let that go for now.) For turning 30 this year, he still seems too young to portray the cleverest rogue in the Batman’s gallery. Perhaps this is another part of director Christopher Nolan’s reinterpretation of the Bat-Universe?

There was another leaked report on the film this week that bears considering. Location scouts had been to a Michigan park and water treatment plant considering the area for “a hideout for Batman sidekick Robin.” Now, I’m no Sherlock, but this would add another potential character to the casting list, right?  Robin is definitely one of my favorite Batman characters, but that does definitely NOT include the other film versions (as portrayed by Chris O’Donnell). Seeing the Robin character reinvented in Nolan’s universe, I’m sure, would be nothing short of awesome. And I think Gordon-Levitt would make a fine Robin. He could definitely hold his own against Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne, and (allow me to gush for moment) I wouldn’t mind seeing the guy in tights. The opposite issue of age comes into play here, in that Robin typically starts his superhero career as a young boy or teenager, and, young as Gordon-Levitt looks, he probably couldn’t pull that off either, but again, reinterpretation leaves the door cracked open here.

Of course, none of the above is confirmed and this is all entirely speculation… but it’s fun to guess, isn’t it?
