Fresh off two terms as the 38th Governor of California, Schwarzenegger has announced via his Twitter account that he is now officially considering movie offers again for the first time since he entered office in 2003. Aside from cameos in films such as The Rundown and The Expendables, Schwarzenegger’s last film appearance was eight long years ago in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
So what comes next for Arnold? With this announcement we should begin hearing rumblings about potential offers soon enough, but my bet is on a return in Sylester Stallone’s The Expendables 2, tentatively scheduled for 2012. In the first film, Schwarzenegger made a brief appearance as rival mercenary-for-hire, Trent Mauser, who passed on the job taken up by Stallone’s Barney Ross. I can think of no better comeback than seeing Arnold mix it up with Sly and the gang in an expanded role. Seriously.
