Trailer: Super 8

Well it’s about time. The first, full- length trailer metformin 1000 mg day for writer-director J.J. Abram’s Super 8 is here. Viewers of February’s Super Bowl got a peak at the film in a 30-second spot that wreaked of Producer Steven Spielberg’s childhood-alien-magic routine (It was actually one of the best trailers that ran that Sunday). But today, Paramount released a real trailer, complete with plot, dialog, and some indication that a filmmaker other than Spielberg was at the helm.

Is Zack Snyder in Trouble?

When Warner Brothers offered Zack Snyder the director’s chair for the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel, it seemed like he was on top of the world. But certain developments have led some to wonder just how enviable Snyder’s lot is.

The big question has to do with Xerxes. Xerxes is the prequel to 300, Snyder’s breakout film. The plan has been for Snyder to write and direct Xerxes, based off of Frank Miller’s graphic novel. As of last summer, Snyder was said to be in the process of writing it.

So why did Warner Bros. just give the gig to Guy Ritchie?

Super Bowl TV Spots: Thor, POTC, Cowboys & Aliens

We’ve already given you a look at three of the hottest trailers that aired during last night’s Super Bowl. But we’re not done yet. Here are three more brand-spanking new movie previews. Marvel’s “other” comic book movie, Thor, Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Jon Favreau’s Cowboys and Aliens.

Black Swan Special FX Reel

If you’ve seen Pi or The Wrestler, you’re not likely to go into a film by director Darren Aronofsky eagerly anticipating a special effects extravaganza. But his latest, the Oscar-bound Black Swan, is packed with more special effects than you’d think. Effects company Look FX has released a demo-reel showcasing the many subtle (and not so subtle) effects used in the film.

Trailer: Scream 4

It was about 15 years ago that Scream changed the face of horror movies. Perhaps the first of its kind, Scream was a hyper self-aware meta-horror film that armed young audiences with a new, cynical, and cliché-averse way of looking at slasher-films. Then, 11 years ago, Scream 3 wrapped up the trilogy on an arguably low-note. Well, it’s a new decade, and there’s a new Scream ready to explain–and break–the rules. Take a look at the trailer for Scream 4 (or Scre4m, if you prefer). Is this the rebirth of a classic franchise? Or are director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson running out of ideas?

James Franco and Anne Hathaway Will Host the Oscars

And the Oscar Hosting Duties Go to… Well, it’s a tie.

Just as Deadline predicted, the Academy is pursuing a sequel to last year’s double-date, when Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin co-hosted the ceremony with performances that could best be described as “wooden.” This time around, Oscar is shaving off a few decades and going with a younger generation of “Hollywood icons.”
