Just as Deadline predicted, the Academy is pursuing a sequel to last year’s double-date, when Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin co-hosted the ceremony with performances that could best be described as “wooden.” This time around, Oscar is shaving off a few decades and going with a younger generation of “Hollywood icons.”

Famed graffiti artist and now multimedia celebrity, Banksy, has taken a rare guest spot of directing the opening credit sequence for the television show The Simpson. In keeping with his “rebel” persona Banksy takes the Simpsons to a place of keen social satire.  And by keen social satire I mean that he basically skewers the crap out of Fox and their questionable business practices.  My jaw dropped half way through this thing.  I can’t believe Fox even put this on air.

In a major deal for JJ Abrams, Fox has given a pilot commitment to Alcatraz, a top secret project from a script by Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt.  Lost executive producer Elizabeth Sarnoff did a final rewrite on the screenplay and will serve as Showrunner.  Very little is known about the project which is described as:
